01
Capability overview

Cooling is a sizing problem before it is a product

Electronics in outdoor cabinets, shelters, data rooms and battery containers fail from heat and moisture long before anything else. The unit on the wall only fixes that if it matches the heat load, the site and the power available. Prestige Industrial works the problem from that end — then sources the right unit factory-direct and stands behind it locally.

01

Heat-Load Calculation

Internal dissipation plus heat gained through the enclosure walls and from the sun — the capacity the site actually needs.

02

Technology Selection

Air conditioner, heat exchanger, combined AC + heat pipe, free cooling or liquid cooling — matched to ambient and energy target.

03

Power & Monitoring

Single- or three-phase AC, or native DC 48 V telecom power. RS485 on every category, RS485/CAN on liquid-cooling units.

04

Enclosure Integration

Mounting face, cut-out, sealing and condensate handling on the cabinet, shelter wall, container side or roof.

05

Environmental Duty

Operating ranges down to −40 °C, IP55 units, and heating and dehumidification options for cold and humid sites.

06

Local Support

Documentation, spares and after-sales in Australia — one accountable team from enquiry to end of life.

Typical deliverables

Heat-load calculation · model selection with datasheet · dimensions and cut-out information · options schedule (heating, dehumidification, inverter, monitoring) · quotation · commissioning guidance · spares list

Applications

Where the range works

Telecom, industrial automation, power grid, data rooms and energy storage — four duty profiles, each with its own answer on power, mounting and energy use.

Telecom tower siteTelecom base stations

Telecom sites & shelters

DC 48 V is already on site, so DC-type cabinet units, heat exchangers and the DC split unit run without an inverter. Free cooling cuts compressor hours where the air is cool and clean.

The same questions decide every job: how much heat, how hot the site gets, what power is available, and which face of the enclosure the unit can mount on.

Five ways to move heat out — and when each one fits

Heat exchangerPassive · no compressor
Cabinet air and outside air pass each other through an aluminium plate core and never mix. Works only while outside air is cooler than the target inside.
Cool climates · lowest energy · maintenance-free
AC + heat pipeHybrid · automatic
A siphon heat pipe carries heat out whenever conditions allow; the compressor unit starts only when they don't.
Telecom DC sites · energy saving with a safety net
Air conditionerClosed-loop compressor
A refrigerant circuit cools the sealed internal air loop, so the cabinet can run below ambient — the answer when the site gets hotter than the electronics allow.
Hot sites · any climate · AC or DC 48 V
Free coolingFresh air + compressor
Filtered outside air cools the shelter when it is cool, dry and clean enough; dust and humidity sensors hand back to the compressor when it isn't.
Base-station shelters · large seasonal savings
Liquid coolingCoolant loop
A chiller holds the coolant feeding the battery racks at a set temperature, with liquid heating and RS485/CAN communication.

Sizing a cabinet air conditioner

Rule of thumb for a sealed enclosure:

Q = Pinternal + k · A · (Tambient − Tinside)

A = exposed surface area (m²); k ≈ 5.5 W/m²·K for painted sheet steel. Add a margin for direct sun, then take the next size up.

Sizing a heat exchanger

Heat exchangers only work while outside air is cooler than the target inside:

q = Pinternal ÷ (Tinside,max − Tambient,max)

q is the specific capacity in W/K — compare it with the H-series table on page 07. If the gap is small or negative, use an air conditioner.

Condensate

Compressor units remove moisture from the cabinet air — plan the drain route on the mounting face.

Sealing

A closed loop only stays closed if the cut-out and cable entries are sealed — see our cable entry range.

Clearance

Keep the external air path free of walls and neighbouring units so the condenser can reject heat.
